There's very little difference in the facelift. It's a nice looking car but personally for just a bit more I would go with the 2009 WRX. 265 hp and AWD for 25k, can't beeat that.
the civic was just about perfect before this rendition. almost looked like it was a pinnafarina design. the block of chrome on the 09 trunk lid doesn't appeal to me...but i'll reserve judgement until i see it in the flesh. at first blush it looks like it is trying too hard. why mess with perfection.
I've been looking at the '08 for some time now. I wish someone other than VW would have the forsight to R&D a quality diesel for the American market. If it weren't for the hope of being able to obtain a new Jetta, I would probably be the owner of a 2008 Civic already. With the Honda dealership refusing to discount the Civic, it makes the price of the Jetta TDI that much more palatable! I realize the diesel Jetta will cost more at first, but in six years, the time it will take to pay off either it or a Civic, hopefully the extra MPG the diesel alledgedly will get will make up the difference and have a higher resale value at trade-in time. Vas thinken sie?
